Intersolar is the world's largest trade fair for solar technology. It focuses on the photovoltaic, solar thermal and solar architecture branches. Since its founding, Intersolar has established itself as the leading international industry trade fair for manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers and service providers within the industry.
In 2008, Intersolar could increase its status as the leading trade fair for solar technology: compared to last year, the number of exhibitors has risen to 1,053 (+65%) and the floor space has increased from 34,000 m² to 76,000 m². For 2009 another increase to 1.300 is expected. As a result, in 2009 Intersolar will occupy nine halls and a large outdoor exhibition area.
The trade show's move to Munich in 2008 has helped achieve a new level of internationalization. With 47% of exhibitors and 45% of the 51,861 visitors coming from abroad, Intersolar 2008 once again consolidated its position as the world's leading trade show. In 2009 an increase to 60,000 visitors is expected, around 50% of who will be from abroad.
The Intersolar is the only trade fair for solar technology in Europe that is officially recognized by both the German Association for Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) and the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) as an international trade fair.
