Dr. Stanislaw M. Pietruszko

Dr. Stanislaw M. Pietruszko is Head of the Centre for Photovoltaics at the Warsaw University of Technology and President of the Polish Society for Photovoltaics. He is also Member of the Steering Committee of the European Photovoltaic Technology Platform. In addition, he has coordinated several projects researching possibilities and obstacles to PV development in Central Europe over the last few years. As a Polish Parliament and European Commission expert on RES, he campaigns for legal support to PV development in Poland and other Central European countries. For the last 5 years he has been publishing the yearly “Status of PV in NMS”, with thanks to the strong network of PV institutions in the EU New Members States. His 31-years scientific career in PV is focused on research on thin film amorphous silicon solar cells, testing of PV modules and systems.

 

Mr. Christoph Urbschat

Shortly after finishing his economics studies in Hanover and Düsseldorf (Germany) in 1998, Christoph Urbschat worked as an independent consultant and developed and co-ordinated a professional marketing network for renewable energy technologies.
From 1999 to 2000 he worked as a marketing manager at an environmental consultancy, where he was in charge of the co-ordination of a campaign on behalf of the EU Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy & Transport, and coaching marketing schoolings for industry and trade associations in the field of renewable energies.
Since 2000 he is founding partner of Eclareon – Management Consultants, an international consulting firm working in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors. Since 2008 he is Chairman of the Work Group on Export Photovoltaics at German Solar Industry Association.

Mr. del Río is Managing Director of AEF - Asociación Empresarial Fotovoltaica. He acted as Vice-President and Managing Director of IDAE (Institute for Diversification and Saving of Energy) at the Spanish Government. He has also been a board member of Enagas and Enher. Under his mandate, IDAE actively promoted the development of wind farms, cogeneration and third party funding. He has dedicated his life to promotion of renewable energies and energy efficiency in all aspects of the economy.

Ms Eleni Despotou is Deputy Secretary General and Policy Director of EPIA (European Photovoltaic Industry Association). She joined EPIA in 2002.
She graduated from Mechanical engineering with specialization in energy and political sciences and in international relations.
Ms Despotou is an expert on energy policy. She is coordinator of the EU PV Technology Platform, a member of the Executive Committee of IEA PVPS, of the Managing Board of PV Cycle Association, of different scientific committees and of the Advisory Energy Agency Board (GR, CY).

 

Mr. Dmitry Kotenko

Dmitry Kotenko is a founder and head of Nitol Solar Limited.
He graduated from the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and has completed a number of Executive programs in finance and corporate management in London Business School and has over ten years of executive experience within large-scale Russian enterprises.

In 1998 Mr. Kotenko, in cooperation with his partners, founded Nitol Company and became its CEO.

The Company is currently implementing a wide-scale and innovative project of constructing polysilicon and monosilane production facility which is main raw material used in PV and microelectronics.
In October 2008 Dmitry Kotenko was awarded a Medal of Honour “for High Innovative Achievements” for the implementation of a high-technology polysilicon production project.

 

Prof. Doriana Dimova-Malinovska

Prof. D. Dimova-Malinovska is  Head of the Department for Photovolatic Materials at the Central Laboratory of Solar Energy and New Energy Sources (CL SENES) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS). She is a scientific secretary of the Problem Council Materials and Nanotechnology and of the National Expert Council of Nanotechnology at the BAS. In addition, she is coordinator of numerous research and development projects supported by the Bulgarian National Scientific Fund, European programmes, NSF of USA, NATO Scientific programmes, etc. She is a member of the Science, Technology & Applications Working Group of the EU PV Technology Platform. She has vast research experience, focussing on thin film technology and materials for solar energy applications. She is the author of more than 100 papers in international scientific journals, and co-editor of several books on photovoltaic and nanotechnology.

 

Prof. Viacheslav M. Andreev

Prof. Viacheslav M. Andreev is Head of the Photovoltaics Section of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is Member of the Photovoltaic Technology Research Advisory Council of the European Photovoltaic Technology Platform. His area of research is connected with III-V solar cells, concentrator PV systems and thermophotovoltaics. He has received the European Becquerel Prize for his achievements in the field of photovoltaics.

Mr. Petr Klimek is former director of Czech Renewable Energy Agency. He is Member of the European Photovoltaic Technology Platform (WG1 - policy) and Coordinator of several R&D projects in the field of renewable energy and of the Czech PV development cooperation. He is a lecturer and also works as a PV consultant in the Czech market (market research, PV projects economic analyses, contacts with stakeholders, banks and public authorities etc.) and organizes Czech photovoltaic conferences and workshops.

Franko Nemac, B.Sc. E.E., Director of ApE, has vast experience in the field of energy policy, power generation and transmission and other energy sector related issues (e.g. energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, etc). He has delivered numerous lectures and authored various publications on energy policy, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. Mr. Nemac is a highly respected expert on the Slovenian energy sector. He has extensive experience of working with Slovenian governmental institutions and ministries. He is Member of the Slovenian Electrotechnical Association and the Slovenian Committee of the World Energy Council-WEC, Representative of Slovenia in the International WEC Committee on Renewables, Coordinator of the Slovenian PV Platform and Member of the European Technological Platform for Photovoltaics.
 

Prof. Sener Oktik

Prof. Oktik is a senior experimental applied physicist with academic/industrial research /development and teaching expertise in semiconductor materials and devices for optoelectronic devices and photovoltaic applications. He has experience and expertise in variety of deposition and characterization techniques for bulk and thin film semiconductor materials as well as fabricating optoelectronic and photovoltaic devices on them at laboratory and industrial scale.
Currently prof. Oktik is Rector of Mugla University, and Director of Mugla University Clean Energy Resources R&D Center running the largest PV test and demonstration site in Turkey giving consultancy services in the field of PV.
He is a member of European Union, Photovoltaic Technology Platform, Working Group 4 and Mirror Group, the alternate Ex-Co of Turkey for IEA Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme, member of “World Energy Council” Turkish National Committee, board member of Turkish Clean Energy Foundation, founder member of National Photovoltaic Technology Platform of Turkey, representing Turkish Physical Society in Energy working Group of European Physical Society.
Prof. Oktik is also member of the Turkish team for EU Accession Process in the Chapter  25:Research and Technology and the Chapter  26:Education and Culture, Turkish Energy Council, the evaluation committee at the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), the Turkish National Innovation Group, the Advisory Board of TUBITAK, the Marmara Research Centre (2003-2005), Euro Solar, the Institute of Physics, Policies on Energy Technologies Study Group, the Promitheas, the Energy and Climate Policy Network for Black Sea Countries.
Since 1980 prof. Oktik has published over 100 scientific and technical publications and inventor/co-inventor of two world patents in the field of photovoltaics.

Dr. Dan Ilie Teodoreanu

Dr. Dan TEODOREANU is one of the founders of NESL-ICPE and is active in the field of renewable energies since 1980. He has coordinated more than 100 projects on RES/RUE related issues: design, manufacture and installation of PV, wind and hybrid systems, performance evaluation of PV modules and systems, technical expertise and consultancy in the field of renewables, local wind resources assessment and feasibility studies for wind parks, building of integrated photovoltaics, technologies and materials for intelligent buildings.
He participated as expert in the elaboration of the “Law for Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources in Romania” and of the “National Strategy for Valorification of Renewable Energy Sources in Romania”.
He is member of the working group I of the European Technology Platform “Photovoltaics” and of the Mirror Group, and member of EWEA.
